Devoted to the living art of theatre.
Dedicated to producing important works of world theatre
and encouraging new playwrights through readings and full productions.

This gala event was held at the Manhattan Bridge Club on March 9, 2002. It was a benefit for the Deptford Players, as well as a chance for some of the company's most stalwart supporters to meet each other and the ensemble in a relaxed social setting. Some sixty ticket-holders arrived for the festivities.

The evening began with a staged reading:

. . . for within the Hollow Crown
That rounds the mortal temples of a king,
Keeps Death his court; and there the antic sits . . .

An entertainment by and about the Kings and Queens of England, with music, poetry, speeches, letters and other writings from the Chronicles, from plays and in the Monarchs' own words.
